Why is a day off not really a day off?
Well because I have a thousand things to do on my days off. Up early to get J1 ready for preschool. I dropped him off then met with my pharmacy students for a couple of hours. Then off to go pick up J2 to take him to the mall for a playdate. Which is really just an excuse to meet up with friends and chit chat while our babies play in the play area. J2 had a great time. So did I. It was fun to watch him interact with the other kiddies in the area. First he found an older kid to run and chase after. Then a little girl a few years older than him took him under her wing. She carried him around. Helped him up the slide. Pulled him into the car with her. Hugged him. So sweet. Until she decided that she was done and she started pushing him away. I then had to step in and divert him away so she could get a break and he wouldn't get hurt. All in all a fun productive day off, sort of.

No!!! Don't Touch That
Argggggg. Why are kids geniouses at pressing buttons? I guess I can't blame them. That big flashing blue button that turns the computer on and off is just sooooooo tempting. It's calling out to be pushed. So of course. J2 pushed it. Right as I was in the middle of typing something. His punishment was to go sit on the couch. Well he went and laid down on the couch but left his feet on the ground. He fell asleep that way. So cute. I should have gotten a picture.
Hi Ho Hi Ho - It's off to work I go.
Well this is about silly question right? You know how we were always taught in school that there is no such thing as a stupid question. Well that is dead wrong. There are stupid questions. I am sure I have asked my share of them. But I also have gotten asked a lot of them. A few months ago at work, one of my patients was upset because she did not have any refills left on her birth control pills. Of course she called me on Sunday and of course the MD office is closed on sunday. So when I told her she would have to wait until Monday to get refills she asked me "Well whose fault is it gonna be if I get pregnant?" I was speechless. I could not believe it. Did she think it was going to be my fault??
How did I get here?
I was looking at my two little boys sitting on the stairs together, and the thought popped into my head. How did this happen? Does a moment in time ever make you stop and think about that. I aked DH (darling husband), "How did ths happen?"? Seriously!! I was minding my own business, taking a vacation with some freinds who had convinced me that cruising was the best way to vacation and I meet this guy. If you know anything about cruising, they tell you if you miss the boat. Too Bad. They wait for no one. Well, I missed my plane that morning. So the nice airline lady told me that I could fly into another city and take a 1 hour cab ride to Miami and maybe, just maybe I would get there before 4 pm when the ship was setting sail.
I made it. I met this guy. We clicked and hung out all week. We exchanged phone numbers and I lost his. End of story right?? Nope. He called me and we talked and talked and talked. We started dating, long distance. I went to pharmacy school that fall and we dated with a break up or two until we got married 5 & 1/2 years later. Now 5 years of being married we have 2 wonderful, wild, crazy, fun loving toddler boys.
